The expansive nature of Sultani Ocean is imbued with subdued color hues of fading blues, slate colors, and earthy tones spread throughout its long expanse of floral motifs. The design exhibits a quiet sense of rhythm as the intricate pattern is revealed progressively through the length of the rug.
Based on the Sultani weaving technique, the rug exhibits characteristics similar to those used for Persian and Central Asian rugs featuring the traditional garden decoration, but rendered in a less intense way. Four months of hand knotting in Kabul, Afghanistan has resulted in the production of this unique floor covering made using hand-spun wool dyed naturally and exhibiting a slightly textured look.
The long dimensions of the rug make it ideal for hallways and gallery areas, where its gentle color palette will add to the depth and softness created using natural materials such as wood, stone, and woven fabrics.
