The colors in Sultani Ash have been toned down to create an atmospheric palette of weathered gray that is elevated by hints of faded garnet, soft gold, light blue, and ivory. Floral elements appear to float gently through the field, held together by slender vines to achieve a graceful fluidity within the overall composition.
Based on the classical Sultani design but with a less elaborate take on the pattern, it references historic garden carpets with its tonal interpretation. The rug was made by hand in two months in Andkhoy, Afghanistan, using hand-spun wool and organic dyes.
With its compact size and neutral coloration, it is well suited for placement in smaller spaces alongside a reading chair or under a small table in environments dominated by linen fabrics, stone, natural oak, and diffused light.
