Sultani Garnet

Sultani Garnet is characterized by a rich, warm feel created by an interplay between dark red tones of garnet, pale indigo, ivory, and intricate tracery on the runner’s elongated field. The flowers repeat themselves rhythmically along the entire length of the carpet, giving it a sense of motion and grace. The tonality of the wool yarn used for weaving creates an impression of soft aging of colors and materials.

Influenced by the traditional Sultani carpet pattern with its garden-like ornaments, Sultani Garnet represents a darker version of the original, adapted to a narrower, elongated field. This Afghan runner was handmade in Kabul, Afghanistan by local artisans using hand-spun wool and natural dyes in a five-month process.

With its narrow, elongated shape, Sultani Garnet would look best in a hallway or gallery where its deep, rich color palette could be appreciated to its full extent.
