Gabbeh Darakht Mist weaves its way through soft tones of slate blue, denim wash, and charcoal, conveying the sensation of light falling on an open terrain. Across the field, tribal motifs as well as stylized depictions of trees appear in a delicate rhythmical dance, complemented by the earthy hues of rust, ivory, and dark garnet, adding warmth and vibrancy to the subdued color scheme. The design seems fluid, spontaneous, and dynamic in its composition — collected through observation and contemplation.
Influenced by the classic Gabbeh weave from Afghanistan, the motif incorporates elements of village imagery and stories inspired by nature. The hand-knotted carpet takes eight months to produce in the village of Aqcha using hand-spun wool dyed naturally.
The rug’s large format and subdued color palette will enhance an interior environment that is characterized by simplicity and elegance.
