The Waziri Sand rug has a subtle palette featuring warm ivory, faded clay tones, soft sage hues, and accents of deep indigo, all woven into a quiet geometric pattern. There is a feeling of subtle wear on the surface, as if each element has been slightly sun-kissed into the fabric, creating an overall aura that is subdued and earthy.
Influenced by Waziri traditional tribal rug making, the Waziri Sand design reflects the symmetry and graphic qualities of traditional central Asian carpets, albeit with a more subtle interpretation. The rug has been handmade over four and a half months in Andkhoy, Afghanistan, from hand-spun wool yarns dyed using natural dyes, giving the rug rich tonal qualities in its soft wool pile.
Its compact size and subdued nature make it well suited for placement in quiet rooms where it can add texture beneath elements such as oak, linen, plaster, or weathered wood floors.
