The Mamluk Smoke Blush rug seems to have an artistic and almost atmospheric effect due to its blurred colors such as faded blush, oxidized garnet, and pale turquoise fading into each other as if they were layers of weathered pigment in plaster. In the middle of the rug there are medallions of geometrical shape forming a certain rhythm.
Based on classical motifs of Mamluk rugs, the rug features geometrical shapes in an expressive way, as well as with hints of time passage. Hand-made in Kabul, Afghanistan, in the course of eight months, the rug is knitted with hand-spun wool dyed with natural dyes giving the effect of motion and soft mat texture to the rug.
This kind of rug is suitable for those rooms that seem to be accumulated with different things and objects but are not formal at all, with their natural stone, brushed oak, plaster walls, and unadorned furniture.
