The Atlas Night carpet embodies the depth and richness of an artistic midnight textile filled with symbolisms and geometrical patterns. Within the dark blue field, complex tribal medallions, angles, and borders appear in soft colors of terracotta, sand, old olive, and light ivory. It is instinctive in nature while being highly detailed, but there is always something about the background of the carpet that makes it seem quiet and rich in color.
The carpet design draws on the vocabulary of Central Asian and Caucasian weaving and mixes the architectural feeling of structure with more mosaic-like approach to patterning. It was hand knotted in Aqcha, Afghanistan within eight and a half months using hand spun wool and natural dyeing methods that contribute to the rich coloring of the design.
Its earthy color scheme and complexity are well suited for interior settings that are filled with natural textures, wood furniture, and collections.
