Heriz Azure

Heriz Azure is a strikingly contrastive carpet that creates a harmony between deep-red shades and brilliant blue outlines creating the borders for this work of art. It is decorated with a central medallion consisting of floral and geometrical decorations that are complemented with faded ivory, pale green, and sand-like colors. The color palette creates a vibrant picture which, however, is slightly subdued by the natural roughness of handwoven wool and hand-applied coloring.

Taking into consideration the rich history of Heriz carpets, one can note that the current carpet uses the geometrical pattern and architectural symmetry specific to Persian village weaving. This work of art was made by hand and knotted during the course of one year in Aqcha, Afghanistan using hand-spun wool dyed with natural dyes.

The color scheme and size of the rug make it perfect for rooms decorated with natural stone, wood, and unique furnishings especially living rooms and dining areas.
